How it started

Our Story

"

It started, fittingly, with a swipe. Chloe invited Connor out for drinks with her friends - and when he turned up, she was surrounded by guys who were very clearly there to make a good impression. Somehow Connor still made the cut. The two of them slipped off not long after and ended up on the beach, talking until the sun came up and neither of them noticed.

What we didn't mention on the first date: we'd actually already faced off before we ever met in person - a 1v1 game of Call of Duty, online, before either of us knew what the other looked like. Chloe won.

She has not won since. Connor took that loss very personally and has spent the years since quietly rebuilding his ego, one respawn at a time. We're calling it character development.

Since then, the squad's expanded. We now share the house with three fur kids - Fluffles, Delta, and Echo - who've fully embedded themselves in the family and, frankly, may already outrank us. Delta and Echo got their call signs during a very serious naming negotiation that Connor finally won (redemption arc, at last). Fluffles just showed up with main character energy and never left.

Since 2021 - one winning (losing) streak, three extra (fur) family members, and a whole lot of growing up together - here we are, about to make it official.

The Big Day

The Plan

Everything you need to know about the day itself - relaxed, colourful, and set among the vines.

🌳

Ceremony & Reception

We'll say "I do" outdoors at Winery Road Forest, Stellenbosch - relaxed and focused on the moment rather than formality.

Straight afterward, we move into drinks, dinner, and celebrating together at the same venue.

πŸ‘—

Dress Code

Formal / smart casual. Think wedding-appropriate, warm layers, and earthy or jewel tones.

Closed, comfortable shoes recommended - it's a garden and forest setting, not a ballroom floor.

🍷

Food & Drinks

Expect a proper Winelands spread, with a meat and a veggie set menu option, paired with local wine.

You'll choose your meal and flag any dietary requirements when you RSVP.

🎢

Music & Celebration

We've got a great DJ lined up to keep the dance floor going all night.

Got a song that'll get you moving? Add it to your RSVP.

πŸ“΅

Photos

During the ceremony, we'd love phones away so everyone's fully present and our photographer can capture it properly.

After that - photos very welcome and encouraged!

🧸

Kids & Childcare

Kids are more than welcome to join us for the ceremony in the forest - we'd love to have them there.

For the reception, we've arranged a highly recommended nanny service in case you'd like a little time to yourselves on the dance floor - totally optional, just there if you fancy it. See our FAQ below for details and pricing.

Good to know: early July is winter in the Cape - crisp, sunny days and cool evenings, with the odd rain shower. Bring a warm layer and something smart for the ground underfoot, and you'll be perfectly dressed for a Winelands wedding.
Optional, but encouraged

The Week

We'd love to spend time with you building up to the wedding - but we completely understand if you'd rather do your own thing too. Join for one day, a few days, or the whole week; the only non-negotiable is Friday.

MonWine Tram

Franschhoek Wine Tram

A hop-on-hop-off wine tram through the Franschhoek valley, stopping at historic wine estates along the way. Around R260pp for the tram itself, plus tastings extra per estate - more info at winetram.co.za. Hold off booking for now - we'll confirm which line closer to the time so everyone ends up together.

TueFree Day

Rest & recharge

Nothing on the schedule today - sleep in, explore Stellenbosch at your own pace, or recover from Monday's tastings. Entirely up to you.

WedMeet & Greet

Welcome meet & greet

We'd love for everyone to meet each other before the big day - an afternoon-into-evening get-together for drinks and a proper catch-up. Venue TBC - we're still deciding on the perfect spot and want to know numbers first, so please let us know if you're keen to join via the RSVP. Attendance encouraged!

Getting Here

Travel & Stay

🗺️ Psst - there's a whole second page!

We put together a full guide to Cape Town, the Winelands, and beyond - itineraries, costs, sunset spots, safaris, and even Kruger.

Explore South Africa →

Winery Road Forest sits in the Stellenbosch winelands, about 40-50 minutes from Cape Town International Airport (CPT) - the nearest airport, and the one we'd recommend flying into. Car hire is highly recommended, since the drive out through the winelands is part of the fun.

Good questions

FAQs

Do we need to attend the whole week?

Not at all. Join us for one day, a few days, or the whole week - whatever works for you. The only non-negotiable event is Friday (the wedding). Everything else is optional and relaxed.

What if it rains?

Then we fully embrace the moody forest vibes. There are weather backup plans in place, and everything will still be warm, dry, and beautiful. Rain in a forest also makes for incredible photos.

Are kids welcome?

Kids are welcome all day, including the ceremony - we'd love to have them there. For the reception, we've arranged a trusted nanny service in case parents fancy a bit of time to themselves on the dance floor - completely optional, just there if you'd like to use it. See the next question for details and pricing. Please still include kids in your RSVP so we can plan food and numbers.

What are the childcare options?

If you'd like a little time to yourselves during the reception, we've partnered with Wineland Nannies, a bespoke babysitting service based in the Winelands - entirely optional, and available for the reception or any evening during the week.

All their nannies are First Aid certified (including paediatric care), background and reference checked, hold valid police clearances, and are covered by public liability insurance while on duty.

Packages (per nanny, 3-hour minimum):
3 hrs - R1,035 · 4 hrs - R1,150 · 5 hrs - R1,265 · 6 hrs - R1,495 · 7 hrs - R1,725 · 8 hrs - R1,955 · 9 hrs - R2,185 · 10 hrs - R2,415 · 11 hrs - R2,530 · 12 hrs - R2,645 · Overtime - R287.50/hr (prices include VAT)

Nanny-to-child ratio: 1 nanny per 2 children under 4, or 1 nanny per 4 children aged 4+.

Bookings are handled directly between you and Wineland Nannies - reach out to them via the link above to check availability and book. We'd genuinely recommend booking early if you think you'll want this: confirm before May 2027 if you can, since that's when their availability starts filling up.

Can I wear heels?

You can, but we recommend block heels, wedges, or flats. This is a forest and garden setting rather than a ballroom - your ankles will thank you.

Is there cell signal or Wi-Fi?

Signal can be patchy in spots around the venue - welcome to the winelands. Wi-Fi is available at most accommodation, and we highly recommend embracing the opportunity to unplug.

Who do we contact with questions?

We'll share a contact person closer to the wedding for any urgent questions. For now, feel free to reach out to us directly - we promise we're friendly.

Gifts

Honestly, having you there is the whole point. Travelling this far, taking the time off, being in the room with us - that's the gift.

If you're the type who won't be told no, a contribution toward the honeymoon would be gratefully, and slightly guiltily, accepted.

Please don't ghost us

RSVP

Please complete the form below for yourself and anyone else already included in your invite, so we can plan food and the right amount of organised chaos.
